'Knives Out' Heads for a Threequel, Welcoming Andrew Scott, Josh O'Connor to the Cast

With the third "Knives Out" movie on the way, major casting news revealed that Andrew Scott ("All of Us Strangers," "Ripley"), Josh O'Connor ("Challengers," "God's Own Country"), and Cailee Spaeny ("Priscilla," "Civil War") will joining in on the fun, along with Daniel Craig, who plays the franchise's gay detective, Benoit Blanc.
The news comes on the heels of the film's title being announced. The third movie in the series is officially called "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery." It follows "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery," released in 2022, and 2019's "Knives Out."
"Netflix announced last week that the third film will follow a new murder mystery in a yet-to-be-disclosed setting and will feature another colorful array of suspects," relayed The Hollywood Reporter.
"Rian Johnson is returning to direct from a script he wrote," detailed Deadline. "He will also produce the pic with his partner, Ram Bergman through T-Street Pictures."
Johnson also wrote and directed the first two films. "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery" is expected to arrive next year. Its newly signed cast members have been keeping busy. "O'Connor will next be seen starring in 'The History of Sound' alongside Paul Mescal," Deadline noted, while Spaeny will have another starring role in this summer's new "Alien" movie, "Romulus."
According to IMDb, Scott will also be on screens later this year, in a Seth Gordon film titled "Back in Action" that also stars Kyle Chandler, Jamie Foxx, Tom Brittney, Glenn Close, and Adam Basil.
