2023 Rewind: Chace Crawford Shows Off His Superhero Physique

There is no word as to when Season 4 of "The Boys" will drop on Amazon Prime, but series star Chace Crawford gave fans something to obsess over with a shirtless thirst trap. Posted on Instagram, the shot shows "off his lean, muscular physique, complete with defined six-pack abs and jacked biceps," according to Men's Health.

"Season 4 still gettin after it" he wrote in the caption, tagging the official account for the show.

"In 'The Boys,' based on the ultra-violent series of comic books, Crawford plays the Deep, an Aquaman-inspired superhero who can breathe underwater and commune with marine life... and wears a skintight wetsuit which leaves very little to the imagination as a costume," Men's Health said.

In 2019 Crawford needed to address "his sizable bulge in a promotional calendar for the Amazon series 'The Boys' that went viral."

He told Entertainment Weekly at the time, "'There is a story behind that but I'm sworn to secrecy by Eric Kripke,' Crawford says with laugh, referring to the showrunner and co-creator. 'I'm sworn to secrecy. I wish I could give you a good answer but we'll never know. It will forever remain a mystery. We will never know!' He groans again before adding with another laugh, 'Oh my god!'"

To Men's Health, he added: "Crawford said in 2019 that he 'stepped up the frequency' of his workouts after initially seeing the suit, and in a recent interview with Men's Health he elaborated on how the costuming informed his training, saying: 'What's funny is that after we did the fittings and early mock-ups and several iterations of the Deep's costume, of course they went with the sleeveless one.'"

"He also joked that thanks to some juicy padding in the suit's butt, he doesn't have to 'worry about leg day as much anymore.'"
