2022 Rewind: Initially Cut from IG, Taylor Zakhar Perez's Hot 'Minx' Tease Is Back
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
EDGE is looking back at 2022 and we're resharing some of our favorite stories of the year.
Blame it on an algorithm or an overzealous Instagram employee, but when actor Taylor Zakhar Perez posted a tease for the HBO Max show "Minx," in which he plays a fireman who becomes a centerfold for an adult magazine aimed at 1970s women (patterned after Playgirl), he received a message that it violated IG policies.
After posting the promotional clip, which featured him walking across a locker room nude with a promotional graphic reading "New Episodes" placed over his privates, he received a message from IG that read: "We don't allow people to facilitate, encourage or coordinate sexual activity on Instagram."
Coincidently, the show's IG page also posted the same video, which apparently passed IG standards because it was never taken down. Seeing that, Zakhar Perez reposted the video to his account with the words: "Now that I have [your] full attention..."
"Minx" follows the strange route feminist and journalist Joyce Prigger (Ophelia Lovibond) takes in getting her serious commentary about woman's issues published. Unable to do so through conventional channels, she hooks up with an adult magazine publisher and they come up with the idea of a magazine with male centerfolds that would feature feminist commentary. Hunky Zakhar Perez plays a rather dim fireman who gets the gig of being the magazine's first centerfold, who's having a sexual thing with Lovibond.
