Zoo - Season One

JC Alvarez READ TIME: 2 MIN.

It's total armageddon! Wherever you turn today on the tube, the world is spiraling out of control and at the mercy of mindless flesh-eating zombies, or climate change, or a corrupt bureaucracy. But what if suddenly your favorite Siamese house cat developed a taste for something more than tender vittles? What if the world's animal kingdom decided it was time they took apart the planet? That's the story at the core of the "Zoo" - Season One.

When a nature conservationist (played by James Wolk), comes aground of a series of lion-related attacks in Africa, he begins to rethink a theory proposed by his father (guest star Ken Olin) who believed that one day animals in wild and those domesticated would realize just how even the playing ground is, and that they have nothing to fear from their jailers. When the tables become turned, Jackson Oz (Wolk) has very little time before everything runs amok!

From best-selling author James Patterson, the same mind behind the Alex Cross series, "Zoo" sets up the global drama and intrigue, and puts the lead characters on a desperate chase across Africa, Los Angeles, and Paris to discover the truth. "Zoo" maintains the thrills and chills to a respectable minimum, going more for the suspense as our heroes work to uncover the truth. It's not dependent on the gore that you'd find on other post-apocalyptic shows similarly styled, but it's engaging!

The 4-disc DVD set includes all Season One episodes of the series that debuted on CBS and features several bonus features that take you behind-the-scenes including a special look at "Zoo Unleashed: Creating Season One" and several docus on the visual effects that bring the action to life. For the die-hard enthusiast there's a look at the cast and creators visiting San Diego Comic-Con to promote the new show, and several additional looks at the animal kingdom.

Bring home "Zoo" - Season One today, just be mindful and do feed the animals, or they may just help themselves!
