A new survey shows that the number of NFL players who have come out as gay are slowly winning over acceptance from football fans.

As reported by Out Sports, a recent survey of Reddit NFL forums found six of the NFL's 32 teams have more than 50% support for the LGBTQ community.

To come up with that percent, the survey analyzed 2,900 comments from Reddit sports forums using an analytical tool called VADER to analyze each Reddit post.

"VADER recognizes words and phrases and connects them to polarity (positive/negative) and intensity (strength) of emotion to return several different sentiment scores: positive, neutral, negative, and a compound score," the survey notes.

The survey found that Bengals, Jaguars, Buccaneers fans were the most LGBTQ-supportive online. Other online fan communities with more than 50% positive comments included Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders, according to the survey, which was completed for the ticket site Tickpick.

The least supportive fans of online fan bases being the Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers at 29.4%, followed by the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys.

Although the math and formulas behind these surveys aren't necessarily scientific, the results do provide insight into the fanbase behind the NFL.
