Australian softball player Sara Riou hit a metaphorical home run with her proposal to girlfriend Jacinta Comande.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the couple had been dating for two years when Riou felt it was the right time to propose, and in the right way.

Riou popped the question in the middle of a league match at Mirrabooka softball complex in Perth, Western Australia.

It took some help from friends and loved ones, but Riou faked an injury during the match, which brought Comande running on to the pitch. That's when Riou popped the question, surrounded by cheers from the crowd.

After Comande said yes, she went back to the stands as an engaged woman.

"I didn't suspect a thing, and when she went down injured I was obviously really worried about her," said Comande. "I ran over and that's when she proposed — I was so surprised and it was such a special moment."

She added about Riou, "She really pulled it out the bag and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her."
