Katy Perry took to Twitter early Tuesday morning to show support for Ellen DeGeneres, who is in the middle of controversy after it was announced there would be an internal investigation into her daytime talkshow due to reports of workplace toxicity.

"I know I can't speak for anyone else's experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow," Perry wrote. "I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought.

"...to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow," the "Smile" singer added in a follow up tweet.

DeGeneres has found herself in the spotlight recently for all the wrong reasons. After a report surfaced where former employees alleged a toxic work environment on "The Ellen Show," Warner Media announced an internal investigation into the show. After DeGeneres apologized to staff, another BuzzFeed report was published; this time staffers came forward to allege sexual misconduct in the workplace. The comedian has not responded to that report but rumors began to circulate that she wants to quit her show.

On Monday afternoon, actor Portia de Rossi, broke her silence and said she stands by her wife.

A number of Twitter users are taking issue with Perry's latest remarks. Find some of the reactions below.
